Sprinter (スプリンター, Supurintā?), also known as Loper, is a recurring enemy in the series. It debuted in Final Fantasy II.

The Sprinter is fought in several places on the world map, primarily around Fynn, Semitt Falls, Poft, and Paloom. They are a decently powerful enemy when first encountered, but otherwise aren't too difficult to defeat. Sprinters always appear alone.

The Sprinter is fought on various islands throughout the World of Ruin. They primarily attack by depleting the party's MP with Osmose Beak and healing itself and its allies with White Wind, but otherwise are not difficult foes.

The Sprinter is fought around Salikawood if the player attacks them first. Sprinters are semi-dangerous, as they have high Evasion and have access to the ability Stone Gaze, as well as the Augments Full-HP ATK+ and Low-HP ATK+.
