Spellblade (Final Fantasy V)

Spellblade is an offensive ability of the Mystic Knight Job class from Final Fantasy V. It involves imbuing the Mystic Knight's Sword with a certain magic and using that magic on a single foe. These attacks ignore Defense and the Reflect status. The Spellblade skillset is mostly made up of Black Magic, but includes two White Magic spells; Silence and Holy. The learnable spells are divided into 6 different levels, and the advanced Spellblade techniques are some of the most powerful methods of destruction in the game. Spellblade also requires the player to have the spell in question in order to use it. For instance, if the player does not have the Flare spell, then they will be unable to use Flare Sword until they learned Flare. In addition, if the player uses Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, or Holy on their Spellblade, their attack may act as an Instant Death attack against enemies weak to that element.
