The Soldier is an enemy from Final Fantasy II. A common encounter in the early stages of the game, Soldiers have a bit more Attack power than most enemies the player may be used to. It can use the Bow I attack from the back row to hit one party member. It guards a couple of chests in the Dreadnought; one containing a Sleep Blade in Basement Two, and the other containing an Ice Shield on the fourth level.

Etymology
A soldier is one who fights as part of an organized, land-based, sea-based or air-based armed force. A soldier can be an enlisted person, a non-commissioned officer, or an officer in the Army.
Trivia
- The soldiers are present in the FMV opening depicting the Fall of Fynn. They were made tougher than the game implies them to be, with a soldier shrugging off throwing knives impacting his eye and throat.
