Final Fantasy
Edit
Slowra, also known as SLO2 in the NES release and Slow2 in the Final Fantasy Origins release, is a level 5 Black Magic spell which reduces a single enemy's speed, reducing its Hit rate by approximately half. The spell can be bought at Melmond and can be learned by the Black Mage, Black Wizard, Red Mage, and Red Wizard job classes.
In the GBA/PSP/iOS releases it costs 18 MP to cast. Slowra can be cast by Chaos, Astos, and Dark Wizard.
Final Fantasy V
Edit
Slowga, also called Slow2, is a Level 4 Time Magic spell that inflicts Slow on all enemies. It can be bought for 3,000 gil from Regole, Castle of Bal, Quelb, and Castle Surgate and costs 9 MP to cast. Slowga can be cast by Black Warlock, Chrono Controller, Enuo, Fury, and Atomos.
Final Fantasy VI
Edit
Slowga, also known as Slow 2, can be learned from the Esper Quetzalli. It costs 26 MP to cast, has a hit rate of 150, is vulnerable to Runic and inflicts all opponents with Slow. Slowga can be cast by Level 60 Magic, Magic, and Neslug.
Final Fantasy X
Edit
Slowga is available in Tidus's portion of the Sphere Grid and costs 20 MP to cast. Slowga targets the entire enemy party rather than a single one. Slowga can be cast by Defender X, Mortiorchis, and Penance's Left Arm.
Final Fantasy X-2
Edit
Slowga only appears in the International version, and only in the Coliseum, cast by Duo and Seymour.
Final Fantasy XI

| Final Fantasy XI Spell Slowga | |
| MP: | 48 |
| Effect: | Slows enemies within area of effect. |
| Duration: | Varies, threshold unknown |
| Casting Time: | Instant |
| Recast Time: | 1 min |
| Magic Type: | Blood Pact: Ward |
| Element: | Water |
| Jobs: | Leviathan 33 |
Slowga is available to players only as a Blood Pact from Leviathan. It slows enemies within area of effect. Leviathan's TP does not affect Slowga, nor will it be consumed when he uses Slowga.
- Leviathan's Slowga is not technically a spell. It is considered a Job Ability, meaning that Silence does not prevent Leviathan from using it or the Summoner from commanding Leviathan to use it. However, if either the Summoner or Leviathan has Amnesia, Slowga cannot be used.
- A White Magic version is cast by certain Notorious Monsters, such as Ouryu and Yali, but information on the spell's statistics are scarce, as the spell version of Slowga is unavailable to players.
Final Fantasy XII
Edit
Slowga is available for purchase at Balfonheim. A Time Magick 7 License, it costs 10,400 gil and uses 24 MP to cast. In the International Zodiac Job System version, Slowga is a Time Magick 9 License, it can be learned by the Machinist and Time Mage job classes, although Machinist must obtain the license for Esper Famfrit first.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
Edit
Slowga is learned by Ashe, Gijuk at level 5, and enemy Time Mages. It inflicts Slow on a small radius of enemies.
Final Fantasy XIII
Edit
Slowga is an ability for the Saboteur paradigm role, and has an ATB cost of three. Snow, Hope, and Fang can learn it at different Crystarium stages.
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Edit
Slowga returns in the sequel of Final Fantasy XIII, and little to no changes has been made. It has an ATB cost of three, but neither Serah nor Noel can learn it. It is therefore up to a Monster Saboteur to learn the spell.
Final Fantasy Tactics
Edit
- "Time magick that inhibits the passage of time for its targets, effectively reducing their Speed."
- —Description, Final Fantasy Tactics.
- "Obey the sky's will, slow time down! Slow2!"
- —Upon casting in PlayStation version.
Slowja, also known as Slow 2, is a Time Mage ability. Unlike Slow, Slowja cannot be reflected and calculated. It has a vertical of one, allowing the player some positioning leeway. It costs 520 JP to learn. It has a speed of 15 and costs 30 MP to cast.
Slowja has a 20% chance of randomly being learned in battle by a Time Mage who has yet to learn the spell and is inflicted with the status.
