Overview[]
The Skyseer is a magick-based special job focused on dealing elemental damage in an area at no MP cost, which ignores Faith. It has balanced stats, not excelling at any attribute. Its Sky Mantra is unique as it is magickal abilities are the only ones in the game, other than the Netherseer's Nether Mantra, capable of hitting multiple times, although at random. Rapha is the only playable Skyseer (should the player recruit her).
To Skyseer is offset by its average stats, and, most importantly, inconsistent damage output from Sky Mantra's abilities, as they strike randomly within the reticle's tiles; to get the most of these abilities, enemies must be clustered together to increase the chance of hitting them. The Skyseer can be equipped with various equipment pieces and abilities to augment its magickal attack, to make sure every hit counts. Black Mage's Arcane Strength support ability is particularly effective. Alternatively, Rapha can be made into a Black Mage with Sky Mantra as her secondary job command to further increase her magickal attack.

Etymology[]
Heaven is a common religious, cosmological, or transcendent place where heavenly beings such as gods, angels, jinn, saints, or venerated ancestors are said to originate, be enthroned, or to live. According to the beliefs of some religions, heavenly beings can descend to earth or incarnate, and earthly beings can ascend to Heaven in the afterlife, or in exceptional cases enter Heaven alive.
The Japanese names of the skills are Buddhist or Hindu in origin.
- 天鼓雷音: Dundubhi, Devadundubhi, or Dundubhi-ishvara
- 阿修羅: Asura
- 金剛七剣: Vajra (diamond, adamantine, lightning) Seven Swords
- 水磨龍穴: Unknown reference. Its chant makes a reference to "demon(ic) rakshasa" (悪鬼羅刹).
- 大虚空蔵: Great Ākāśagarbha
- 天魔鬼神 (tenma kishin): Uncertain. "Tenma" (天魔) is the Japanese term for Mara. "Kishin" (鬼神) is a Chinese term for ghosts or spirits, and a Japanese term for demons, but may also be Japanese for the Buddhist concept of fierce deities, or super-powered beings. Possibly "Mara Krodha".
