The Skulwyrm is an undead/plate wyrm-type enemy from Final Fantasy XII. It can be found in the Great Crystal in Giruvegan and in the Zertinan Caverns. They're easy on the Zertinan Caverns, but tough in the Great Crystal, due to their ability to use Curse and the spell Disablega.

The Skulwyrm is one of the game's only sources of the Wyrm Bone loot required to make the game's best hammer-class weapon, the Scorpion Tail. Template:See Also

Page 1: Observations

Being a dragon bound by magicks so powerful, it has forgotten to die. Its life continues, though the flesh fall from its bones, and so will it continue until its bones too are nothing but dust. Only then may it rest. With the passing of eons, its intellect has faded to something primal and violent, and its dim awareness of its own decay makes it all the more unpredictably vicious.

Page 2: An Anonymous Report

A wyrm bone brought to the bazaar has reportedly begun attacking merchants. We have received numerous other reports, and are currently investigating possible connections. Findings to date suggest the involvement of a reanimator cult, but they have so far proven elusive and have yet to be brought to justice. The investigation continues.

Etymology

Wyrm is an alternative name for mythological European dragon. They appear mostly in Celtic and German mythology. They are depicted as flying, fire-breathing reptiles, with magical properties. The word wyrm is the original Germanic-based term for a serpent or dragon, draca being adopted from the Latin draco at an early time.
