Skill (秘技, Higi) refer to the abilities used by Zidane Tribal in Final Fantasy IX. They can be learned from equipping certain equipments and armor. Certain Skills consume MP.

| Flee | とんずら Tonzura | 40 | - | Dagger, Mage Masher, Zorlin Shape, Ultima Weapon, Germinas Boots | Allows the party to run away from battle at the cost of gil. The party drops 10% of the amount of gil it would have received, had it won the battle. |
| Detect | みやぶる Miyaburu | 40 | - | Mage Masher, Orichalcon | Allow the player to gain insight on what items the target is carrying, which they can steal. The first item listed is the rarest to get, the last is the easiest. |
| What's That?! | あれはなんだ Are wa nanda | 40 | 2 | Butterfly Sword | Distracts the enemy, resetting their AT bar. |
| Soul Blade | 刀魂放気 Katanatamashiihouki | 35 | 6 | The Ogre | Puts the status effect of Zidane's current weapon on one enemy, It will put the status with 100% chance, unless immune. |
| Annoy | めいわくをかける Meiwaku o Kakeru | 50 | 4 | Gladius, Sargatanas | Causes the status Trouble to a target. |
| Sacrifice | ライフデジョン Raifudejon | 55 | 32 | Exploda, Masamune | Zidane sacrifices himself and distributes his current HP and MP evenly to the rest of the party. |
| Lucky Seven | リーチセブン Rīchisebun | 85 | 6 | Gladius, Exploda, Rune Tooth, The Tower, Thief Hat | If the last digit of Zidane's current HP is a 7, he will inflict random damage, on one target, in the form of 7's (i.e. 7, 77, 777 or 7777 damage). |
