The Siege of Lindblum is the chief battle for domination of the Mist Continent. With Burmecia and Cleyra defeated, and their jewels obtained, Lindblum was the last remaining power on the Mist Continent that stood against Queen Brahne's all-conquering Alexandria.
Story
Edit
Despite Lindblum's huge resource count and large airship fleet and army, which completely eclipsed that of Alexandria's, they have little effect on this conflict. Queen Brahne's black mage army are teleported directly into the castle and the city, and destroy everything and everyone in sight. To finish Lindblum off for good, Brahne summons the eidolon Atomos, stolen from Garnet. The eidolon rises from the ocean and completely destroys the Industrial District as well as indiscriminately sucking up countless people and black mages, also damaging to Lindblum Castle.
White flags are drawn from the castle signalling Lindblum's surrender, which causes Brahne to draw Atomos back.
Brahne gives Cid Fabool IX two conditions for the surrender: she demands the Falcon's Claw, as well as the Hilda Garde II. With Lindblum about to be obliterated, Cid is forced to comply, and the Alexandrian army and fleet move in and occupy the now devastated city. The know-how, stubborn, and proud denizens of Lindblum do not offer the occupying Alexandrians any quarter, and many actively foil their plans while continuing to give aid to Zidane and Princess Garnet, who leave Lindblum to travel to the Outer Continent in order to find information on Brahne's weapons supplier Kuja.
