Shield (Ability)

Shield is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. As its name implies, it is an ability that shields its user from damage.

Shield is the ability of Aeons to shield themselves from strong attacks, but at the cost of not charging the Overdrive gauge. It is especially useful for when the player knows when a particularly strong attack is about to be used, and instead of becoming heavily damaged, the Aeon will receive only a portion of the damage.
