Shadow Flare, also known as Dark Flare, is a spell that is usually associated with Blue Magic. It is essentially an "evil" version of Flare, often of the dark element.

Shadowflare is a Geomancer ability in this game, used randomly while in caves and dungeons. It is very powerful and hits a single enemy.

Shadow Flare can be used by mixing two Dark Matters together. Its base power is 241 and it sets Sap.

Dark Flare is a similar spell usable by the Necromancer class, as a Dark Art. It costs 52 MP, its base power is 200, and it cuts through the enemy's Magic Defense.

Shadow Flare is an Enemy Skill learned from Dragon Zombie, and the bosses Safer Sephiroth, Ruby Weapon, and Ultimate Weapon. It deals massive non-elemental damage to one enemy and costs 100 MP to cast.

Genesis Avatar can cast Shadow Flare.

Dark Flare is the version of Mega Flare cast by the boss Tiamat. It takes some turns to charge, but deals a lot of damage to the party. Junctioning Ultima or Flare to a characters' Elem-Def will allow him\her to absorb this attack.

Called the LV? S-Flare, it damages all units, enemies and allies alike, with the same last digit level as the caster.

Shadowflare is part of the Keeper's Turning skillset and is the only Turning ability exclusive to him.

Shadow Flare is one of Sephiroth's initial Brave attacks where he summons four orbs of darkness that close in on the target. He can learn to cast it in the air at level 28.
