The Shadow Creepers (影クリーパー, Kage kurīpā?), or Shadowcreepers, are monsters created from tainted Lifestream, and can be summoned by Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz, the remnants of Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
The Shadow Creepers are summoned twice: the first to time to attack Cloud Strife in the Midgar Wasteland (although Kadaj dismisses them just before they can harm him), and the second time in the city of Edge when the remnants try to make people stand back from the Meteor Monument before summoning Bahamut SIN.
Shadow Creepers are smaller than more common Final Fantasy creatures like the Behemoths, and they present a scaly skin and a dragon-like head. Their attacks are based on the use of their teeth or claws.
The Shadow Creepers were designed by Takayuki Tokeya. Initial concepts were for them to rise from the earth chained to Yazoo and Loz during the chase with Cloud, but this idea was discarded. Takeya envisioned them as having dog skulls for heads, but reflects they ended up with more rodent-like heads. As a "hidden power", Takeya mentions that even if a limb or even the head of a Shadow Creeper is lost, they keep running to catch their target.
Three Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children figures were released by Kotobukiya in the end of 2005. The figures are sculpted by Takayuki Takeya and Shadow Creeper is one of the released figures. The figure is five inches tall and made of PVC.
