Stages

Shade Impulse 3-1

Template:DFF2008 Map

"Only a cruelly short time remains for the world. The day of reckoning quickly approaches..."

This stage is very straightforward, with several enemies but no hidden enemies or items and no locked areas to bypass. The placement of enemies means chaining multiple opponents is inevitable. The player begins with three Destiny Points.

Jump is needed to end the stage with the most DP. The player should jump over the Transient Witch at D3, then chain all four enemies around them. This opens the path to the Stigma of Chaos and lets the player end the stage with a total of four DP.

Shade Impulse 3-2

"With borders and principles no longer defined, a world without harmony can only move towards destruction..."

This is a straightforward stage, though somewhat unique in that the player starts in the center of the board. Ultimecia can be fought here. The player starts with four Destiny Points.

To earn the most DP in this stage, the player should first move to D4 and defeat all three enemies there, then move to D2 and defeat the two enemies there. This leaves the player with four DP. Now defeat Ultimecia, then the False Hero at E1 to open the locked area at F2. Move to G2 and defeat the Phantasmal Girl before ending the stage, earning a total of five DP.

Shade Impulse 3-3

"An unimaginable sorrow.
To the idols of yore, that sadness is deep and wide...
"

This stage has a unique design in that the player can bypass all enemies and items and end the stage instantly. Branches from the main path hold enemies guarding treasure chests and summonstones, but Enigma tiles hide their contents. The player begins with two Destiny Points.

There are no special tricks or strategies to earn the most DP in this stage, the player must simply defeat all the enemies lining the path one by one. Each of the four Expert Battle Pieces along the main path rewards two DP, and the Ultimate Battle Piece rewards three. The Delusory Knight at D2 and the Imaginary Champion behind it can be skipped. The player is advised to be cautious, as the Expert Battle Pieces are all at high levels, and the Ultimate Battle Piece is one of the most powerful Manikins in all the storylines. Defeating these five enemies on the way to the Stigma of Chaos lets the player end the stage with seven DP.

Shade Impulse 3-4

Template:DFF2008 Map

"What burden does the deadly star bear? What does it bring? For now, he rests within the planet's core..."

This stage is populated with Engima tiles, and the enemies vary between Strange Battle Pieces with summons and high-level Expert Battle Pieces. Sephiroth can be fought near the end of the stage. The player begins with five Destiny Points.

To end this stage with the most DP, the player should first engage the Phantasmal Harlequin at C2, then the False Stalwart at E2. After this move to G2 and chain the Counterfeit Wraith and Capricious Reaper. Defeat the Transient Witch at E4, then defeat Sephiroth to end the stage with six DP. If the player has the Jump skill, they can use it to jump over the Phantasmal Harlequin at C2 and chain it with the False Stalwart to earn an extra Destiny Point to end the stage with seven.

Shade Impulse 3-5

Template:DFF2008 Map

"As told by the storyteller of yore, you are here to free the world from an endless cycle of death and rebirth..."

This stage initially has no enemies, but opening the central chest in the stage causes several powerful enemies to spawn and ambush the player. Garland is fought at the end of the stage. The player begins with two Destiny Points.

Finishing this stage with the most DP requires the player to defeat all present enemies. The player should first open the chest while standing at B3, and defeat the two enemies that spawn near them, then move to D3 and defeat all three enemies there. Once this is done the player should move to G2 and chain the two enemies there to end the stage with seven DP. The player is advised caution again, as the Ultimate Battle Piece is at Level 99 and therefore among the strongest enemies in the game.
