Sentinel (デフェンダー, Defendā^?, lit. "Defender") is a recurring job in Final Fantasy series.

Sentinel is a role which concentrates on reducing incoming damage. Snow Villiers and Oerba Yun Fang specialize in Sentinel.

Final Fantasy XIII-2Edit

Sentinel reappears in the sequel retaining its task of reducing incoming damage; some new abilities are available in the game. Serah Farron and Noel Kreiss, start with Sentinel, but the only latter specializes in the role.
