The Scorpion is an enemy in the original Final Fantasy. When encountered in the Marsh Cave it is extremely powerful relative to the Party's level. It's advised to hit them as hard as possible while casting Heal to make up for the heavy damage they deal. Its attacks may inflict Poison, so it is highly advised to carry lots of Antidotes before traveling through the volcano. They are otherwise easy to defeat at this point in the game.

EtymologyEdit

Scorpions are predatory arachnids of the order Scorpiones. They have eight legs and are easily recognized by the pair of grasping pedipalps and the narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back, ending with a venomous stinger.
