Scorch (かえんりゅう, Kaenryū?, lit. Flamestream), also localized as Inferno, is a recurring enemy ability in the series. It is usually Fire-elemental in nature, and usually targets one party member for massive damage. It is a specialty of Rubicante.

Final Fantasy
Template:Sideicon Scorch appears as an enemy ability exclusive to Rubicante from the Dawn of Souls remake and onward. It inflicts major fire-elemental damage to one party member.
From the original NES version to Origins, SCORCH or Scorch was the name given to the enemy ability used by Hellhounds. From Dawn of Souls onward, this ability was renamed to Blaze.
Final Fantasy IV
Template:Sideicon Marking its first appearance in the series, Scorch is first used by Rubicante and Flamehound, and later by Lunar Ifrit, Crystal Dragon, and Brachioraidos in the Advance remake. It inflicts either moderate Fire-elemental damage to the party or major Fire-elemental damage to one party member, usually resulting in a KO.

Template:Sideicon Inferno is the specialty of Rubicante, and it inflicts heavy Fire-elemental damage to the party.

Rubicante's card depicting his Theatrhythm art can use Scorch. For one Fire CP, the discard of another Rubicante card and Dulling Rubicante, Scorch deals 5000 damage to all non-Fire Forwards.
