Satan's attacks are few in the form of Slash and Battle Blade, which both hit party members for physical damage. However, Battle Blade comes in four versions (I, II, III, and IV) with each version being stronger than the previous and only occurs in sequence depending on how many times he Braves.
Battle Blade I functions in a similar matter to the Ninja's ability, Shippûjinrai, which always goes first before any other action regardless of his Speed stat. To assist him with gaining BP, he is given the Red Mage's passive ability Revenge, which gives Satan a chance to gain 1 BP whenever he is attacked. He also has Wrath which will afflict all characters with the Berserk ailment so a Spiritmaster's Fairy Ward should be considered when fighting him.
An enhanced version of Satan can also be encountered with several enhancements. Aside from the increased stats and the addition of Slow and Steady as a perk, Satan [+] also gets 9999 P.DEF, practically nulling all physical damage.
[view·edit·purge]Satan comes from a Hebrew ha-Satan which means "the accuser." It is the name of the Devil in Abrahamic religions. Satan is also one of the seven princes of Hell in Christian Demonology. He is attributed the deadly sin of Wrath.
Satan in Bravely Default alludes to its counterpart in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.
