Final Fantasy Tactics description
Sandstorm (サンドストーム, Sando Sutōmu?), also known as Dust, Dust Storm, Sand Storm (すなあらし or 砂嵐, Suna Arashi?) is a recurring spell. It has occurred most commonly as an enemy ability, but also as a Blue Magic spell, White Magic spell and an ability Geomancers can use. The attack is most commonly associated with the Earth element and the status Blind, but can sometimes be Wind-elemental or both Earth and Wind elemental.

Final Fantasy V
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is an ability used in the Gaia command. It inflicts Wind and Earth-elemental damage to all enemies, as well as having the ability to inflict Blind. It is used in desert terrain.
Final Fantasy VI
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is both an enemy ability, used by Fossil Dragon, Black Dragon, Slagworm, and Sandhorse, and a Dance ability that Mog can learn through the Desert Lullaby dance. It inflicts moderate Wind-elemental damage to all targets. Gau can also use this attack if he selects the Sandhorse or Fossil Dragon rage.
Final Fantasy VII
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is an attack known by the Sea Worm and Land Worm. It inflicts Earth-elemental damage as well as the Blind status to the entire party.
Final Fantasy VIII
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a skill used by Adamantoises, which attempts to inflict Blind on the party as well as physical damage. Fastitocalon also uses a sandstorm attack to deal non-elemental magical damage to all party members.
Final Fantasy IX
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a skill known by the Sand Golem, Antlion, and Land Worm enemies. It deals damage and blinds all party members. When used by the Antlion, it reduces the party's HP to single digits.
Final Fantasy XI
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a White Magic spell exclusive to Scholars. It will give a (single) earth-weather status around the targeted party member. While this has no direct effect on the player, certain equipment is activated by weather as well as elemental magic. If the Scholar has the Stormsurge merit trait, this spell will also provide a VIT boost.
Great Sandstorm is an ability used by Manticores which inflicts single target damage and blinds.
Final Fantasy XII
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is an enemy ability that inflicts Lightning-elemental damage. It is used by Bangaa Pugilist, Bangaa Thief, Baknamy (sword), Dark Lord, Forbidden, Grave Lord, High Reaver, Judge, Larva Eater, Reaver, and Rinok.

Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a skill that can be learned by the Geomancer job. A Geomancer standing on either the Sand, Stalactite, or Salt Flat terrain tile will use Sandstorm to deal non-elemental damage with a chance of inflicting Blind to any enemy units within five squares. It costs 150 JP to master.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a Blue Magic spell. It deals Earth-elemental damage and blinds units but is now a ranged area spell, upwards to 4 tiles away. It can be learned from most monsters of the Antlion species and costs 12 MP to cast.
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is the Sand Devil's signature ability. The attack deals minor Earth-elemental damage to all enemies of the opposing party and has a chance of inflicting Blind.
Bravely Default
Template:Sideicon Sandstorm is a Genome ability that deals an earth physical attack on all enemies that has a 50% chance to Blind each target. It is learned from Sand Worm. It costs 20 MP to use.

Etymology
A sand storm or dust storm is a meteorological phenomenon common in arid and semi-arid regions. Dust storms arise when a gust front or other strong wind blows loose sand and dirt from a dry surface.
