SandWorm-ff1-psp

II

Sandworm-ff2-psp

Final Fantasy IIIEdit

III

Sand Worm

Sand Worm is an enemy fought at the desert near Saronia and in the Dragon Spire. It is only mildly dangerous in the NES version, but is considerably more dangerous in the 3D remakes as its physical attacks now inflict Blind. It only has Potion as its drops and steal in the NES version, but later has Hi-Potion and the rare Phoenix Down as its items.

Final Fantasy IVEdit

IV

FF4PSP Sand Worm

Sand Worm is an enemy fought in the desert around Kaipo and at the Antlion's Den. In the non-3D versions, it is relatively weak, but is much more powerful in the 3D versions. It has access to the skill Whirlwind and can drop the rare Silver Apple. In the 3D versions, it is weak to both Fire-elemental and Ice-elemental attacks and absorbs Earth-elemental attacks.

Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-Edit

FFIV-I-

Sand Worm returns as an enemy fought on the overworld near Kaipo, and is otherwise identical to its non-3D version in the previous game. It is the first enemy in the game that has Silver Apples available to be won.

Final Fantasy IV: The After YearsEdit

FFIVTAY

Sand Worm returns as an enemy fought in three different versions, one at the Passage of the Eidolons in Rydia's tale, another at around Damcyan and Kaipo and inside the Impact Crater during Edward's tale, and lastly at Adamant Isle Grotto during Ceodore's tale as a boss. While the boss version is stronger than all of the other versions, the other two versions are near identical save for item drops, with the one in Rydia's Tale dropping the usual items as in the previous versions, and the one in Edward's Tale having Bronze Tail for a rare steal and common drop as well as the Silver Tail as a rare drop, but no Silver Apples. They all otherwise fight the same as in the previous game.

Final Fantasy VEdit

V

Sandworm-ffv-ios

Sandworm is fought as a boss at Desert of Shifting Sands. It comes with Holes in which it can appear and disappear in, and attacking a hole without the Sandworm will result in being countered by Gravity. Sandworm is not a very powerful foe, having access only to the Quicksand ability for meager damage and Sap to the party. It is exceptionally weak to Water-elemental attacks, and a single casting of Aqua Breath can defeat it.

Final Fantasy XEdit

X

Watch out for Earthquake, which hits all. Inflict darkness to avoid its head butt.
—Sensor description

Sand Worm is an enemy fought at Bikanel. It is the strongest enemy in the area, boasting a massive 45,000 HP and decent stats, and has access to the abilities Swallow, Regurgitate, and Earthquake. Sand Worm is a rather useful enemy as it can drop armor with HP +10% and Auto-Potion. Inflicting Poison onto the Sand Worm makes it considerably easier to defeat, or using Auron's Overdrive, Shooting Star. Sand Worms always appear alone.

Final Fantasy X-2Edit

X-2

Sand Worm ffx-2

Sand Worm returns as an enemy fought at Bikanel during chapters 3 and 5, as well as in floors 24-26 of Via Infinito. It is still a powerful enemy with high HP and Defense, whilst losing all of its previous abilities except Earthquake. In Oversoul, Earthquake is upgraded to Rage of the Earth, dealing even more damage to the party. It normally drops Mythril Bangles, but in Oversoul will instead drop the much more valued Crystal Bangle. Sand Worms always appear alone.
