FF4PSP Cid PortraitCid: Oh, shut up and help me remodel the Sage (Final Fantasy III) page!
Please expand this article into a full one. This can be done by making a 2D and 3D weapon/armor table like here. Equipment stats do not belong here since the weapons/armor should link to their respectable list of Final Fantasy III weapon/armor page.. This request can be discussed on the associated discussion page.

FF3-Sage
FF3-NES-Sage
Sages are those who have gained knowledge in all schools of arcane arts. They can use all types of spells!
—In-game description
The bearer of this certificate possesses incomparable knowledge of the world of magic and is deemed worthy of the title of Master Sage.
—In-job mastery certificate description

The Sage (賢者, Kenja?) is a Job class in Final Fantasy III. It is gained in Eureka in the original, while it is gained from the Earth Crystal in 3D remake versions. Sages are highly adept mages who have mastered all levels of the Black and White arts. While they have numerous techniques at their disposal, their MP is limited compared to those spell casters who are more specialized. The Sage is considered to be a powered-up version of the Red Mage job, but it lacks the physical offense signature of a Red Mage in exchange for focusing on Black and White arts.

AbilitiesEdit

Famicom VersionEdit

The Sage can cast every magic in the game, as well as the high level Summon magic, making them a real threat. MP growth is higher than the Shaman, Warlock, and Summoner, so the Sage effectively makes those classes obsolete.

Remake VersionEdit

  • Special Ability - White Magic and Black Magic Levels 1 - 8, Summon (White or Black)

MP growth is limited, meaning they cannot use the high level magics as much as the Devout, Magus, or Summoner; additionally, they are only capable of using the Evoker versions of Summon Magic.
