The Blue Magic Transfusion, or Pep Up, kills the user, and the chosen target fully recovers his/her HP and MP. If the caster of the spell is also its target, the caster dies, but recovers all of their MP. It costs 13 MP to cast. It can be obtained from the enemies Mythril Dragon, Calcruthl, Birositris, Devilfish, and Mover, as well as the boss Gargoyle. The player may utilize this ability by catching and releasing a Devilfish or Birositris.
Final Fantasy VI

Strago can learn Transfusion, also known as Pep Up, and it costs 1 MP to cast. It removes Strago from battle permanently, but restores HP/MP to the chosen target as well as removing all negative statuses. Pep Up can be learned from Intangir, Junk and Mousse.
Gau's Rage, Intangir, also grants him the use of Transfusion.
Final Fantasy IX

Zidane can use the skill Sacrifice. It reduces his HP and MP to zero and distributes them to the remainder of the party, meaning every member gets one third of his current HP and MP. It is learned from the Masamune and Exploda, costs 32 MP to use, and takes 55 AP to master. Unlike some incarnations of the ability, Zidane will not be removed from battle, leaving the remaining party members free to revive him at any time.

Sacrifice is a spell available only to White Mages in Final Fantasy XI. It must be cast on a party member, and when done, it will transfer one negative status ailment from the target to the White Mage.
Sacrifice is augmented by Afflatus Solace. While active, a White Mage can absorb up to seven negative status ailments. Afflatus Solace also increases the effectiveness of this spell by increasing the type of status effects that can be absorbed. Effects that will prohibit a White Mage from casting though (such as Silence or Petrification) will not be absorbed.
Sacrifice does not work on negative songs such as Elegy or Requiem. It does not matter if the the White Mage is currently affected by the same ailment (IE: both the Paladin and the White Mage are affected by Frost. Sacrifice could still remove Frost from the Paladin).
Rather contrary to its name, Sacrifice will not absorb Doom.
Sacrifice is not affected by Divine Veil in any way.
Sacrifice can be helpful in using Esuna, since Esuna requires the White Mage to be affected by the status ailment in order to heal party members of the same ailment.

Sacrifice comes in three levels of power and acts similar to Souleater, increasing the character's Strength but lowering their max HP. Sacrifice Lv 1 increases Strength by 30 but lowers HP by 500, Lv 2 grants +50 Strength but at a 750 HP penalty, and Lv 3 increases Strength by 95 but lowers HP by 1000. Warrior of Light, Kain and Squall learn all three levels of Sacrifice, while Onion Knight learns Lv 1 and Lv 2.
