Rune Armlet (ルーンの腕輪, Rūn no Udewa?, lit. Rune Bracelet), also known as Rune Bangle, Rune Ring, Magic Bracelet, and Rune Bracer, is a recurring armor and accessory in the series. It is often a mid-ranked piece of equipment, granting resistance to Silence or boosting the user's max MP.

Final Fantasy IIIEdit

III Rune Bracers is a mid-ranked arm armor that can be bought for 5,000 gil at Duster and Saronia. In the 3D versions, it provides 11 Defense, 13 Magic Defense, +2 Intellect and Mind, and protects against some statuses. In the NES version, it provides 5 Defense, 6 Magic Defense, 10% Evade.

Final Fantasy IVEdit

IV Rune Armlet is a mid to high-ranked armlet that provides 5 Defense, 8 Magic Defense, 8 Magic Evasion, +3 Intelligence, +3 Spirit, and resistance to Silence and attacks from mages. It can be bought for 2,000 gil at Dwarven Castle, or dropped from Marionetteer, Sorcerer, Summoner, and Mist Summoner. It can be equipped by everyone except Cecil and Kain.

In the 3D versions, Rune Armlet now provides +10 Evasion in addition to all the other bonuses, but no longer reduces damage done by mages. it can be acquired and equipped as previously, although adult Rydia now comes equipped with one.

In the Easy Type version, it was renamed to Magic Bracelet.

Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-Edit

FFIV-I- Rune Armlet retains its attributes from the previous game, and is initially equipped on Rosa, Palom, and Porom, bought for 2,000 gil at Damcyan and Fabul, of dropped from Marionetteer. It can be equipped by Rosa, Palom, Porom, Yang, Monk A, Monk B, Rydia?, and Edge.

Final Fantasy IV: The After YearsEdit

FFIVTAY Rune Armlet retains its attributes from the previous game bar the mage resistance, and can be bought for 2,000 gil at Troia, Lodestone Cavern, Mysidia, Kaipo, and Baron, dropped from Sorcerer, Summoner, and Ricardo Mage, and found at Adamant Isles Forest, Troia Castle Waterway (Palom's Tale), and Cave of Eblan (Edge's Tale). It can be equipped by Rosa, Rydia, Edge, Yang, Palom, Porom, Edward, Ursula, Leonora, Gekkou, Zangetsu, Tsukinowa, Izayoi, Harley, Golbez, and Calca and Brina.

Final Fantasy VIIEdit

VII Rune Armlet is a mid-ranked armor that provides 43 Defense, 5 Def%, 24 Magic Defense, and four single Materia slots with double growth. It can be bought for 3,700 gil at Bone Village.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-Edit

FFVIICC Rune Armlet is an accessory that provides MP +80% and prevents Silence, and when two are used in Materia Fusion, it gives MP +10%.

Rune Armlet is an item that teaches a GF the Spr+20% ability. It can be dropped from a level 20-100 Blobra or any leveled Righty, mugged from any leveled Blobra or a level 30+ Righty, or through Angelo Search at a 2/288 chance. It can also be modified from Blobra card x4 for a Rune Armlet, and can be refined into Shell Stone x10 or Shell spell x40.

Final Fantasy X-2Edit

X-2 Rune Armlet is an accessory that provides Max MP +100%, and consuming one will raise a creature's Max HP. It can be found at Macalania Woods (chapter 5) and the Calm Lands Ruins, dropped from Ultima Weapon (normal and Oversoul), stolen from Black Elemental (normal and Oversoul), bribed from Flan Blanco (2,500 gil - x1), by dispatching a level 4 chocobo to Mi'ihen Highroad and as a random prize for winning the Aeon Cup.

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant WingsEdit

FFXIIRW Rune Bracelet is an accessory for Penelo, which increases the duration of her dances. It can be obtained from completing Final Mission 73.

Final Fantasy DimensionsEdit

FFD Rune Bangle is a low-ranked bangle that provides 4 Defense, 4 Magic Defense, 4 Magic Evade, and prevents Silence.

Dissidia Final FantasyEdit

Dissidia Rune Armlet is a level 57 bangle that provides +202 HP and +41 Defense. It can be obtained from the shop by trading 17,810 gil, Hyper Wrist, Sapphire, and Peridot x2.

Dissidia 012 Final FantasyEdit

Dissidia012 Rune Armlet returns as a level 30 bangle that provides +376 HP, +36 Defense, and Regen +10%. It can be obtained from the shop by trading 61,000 gil, Hyper Wrist, and Polished Ore.

EtymologyEdit

Runes are the letters in a set of related alphabets known as runic alphabets, which were used to write various Germanic languages before the adoption of the Latin alphabet and for specialized purposes thereafter.
