Ruby Cuirass (ルビーの胸当て or ルビーのむねあて, Rubī no Muneate?), also known as Ruby Chestplate, Ruby, and Ruby Plate, is a recurring piece of armor in the series.

II Ruby Cuirass is a mid-ranked light armor that provides 15 Defense, -5% Evade, 5% Magic Defense, and -1 Intelligence/Spirit. It can be bought for 600 gil (GBA/PSP) or 800 gil (NES/PSX) at the Tropical Island, or found at Paul's House in Fynn.

Therefore, light armor is mainly equipped to enable its wearer to evade enemy attacks.
