Rolan is a temporary-playable character from Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.

AppearanceEdit

As the Hero of Spelvia, Rolan wears a predominately black outfit with baggy pants that tuck into his boots and gloves. He also wears a four-pointed crown-like object on his head with spines that extend at several inches into the air. The fragment of his soul that joins you wears an identical outfit as well. When corrupted by the darkness, he instead wears a black robe-like overcoat and wields a staff like sword and the spines on his crown extend to several feet long.

After defeating him he loses his crown, which is further proof for the idea it was his version of the Hero Crown which is won after defeating him. When under the effects of the Transform Staff he turns into a Husky with purple tinted gray fur.

StoryEdit

Rolan is a legendary hero chosen by the Crystal from Invidia that saved the world from Chaos, he is also the brother of Rekoteh. However, despite being crowned a hero himself to save the world, he doesn't think he deserves the title due to his failure to save the Mother Dragon. It is the doubt and sorrow from this failure that allowed Lucifer and the forces of chaos to corrupt Rolan's soul, which results in his hatred of humanity.

Years later, Aire and Yunita seek Rolan for aid, but Rolan refuses to help them. Yunita and Aire venture into Rolan's Soul and meet the only part of his soul not corrupted by Lucifer. Together, they manage to defeat the monsters that were controlling Rolan, but this released the darkness within him. When Brandt and Jusqua arrive, the four heroes are forced to fight Rolan as the darkness in him covers the world and sends the four back in time. The group goes back into Rolan's Soul and manage to stop Lucifer from corrupting Rolan. After defeating Lucifer, Rolan gives the party the Sword of Light. Rolan returns to help the heroes when they are at the Witch's Mansion.

Rolan and Louhi reveal to the party that King Horne was turned into a parrot by the demon Satan, who is now assuming his form. After defeating Satan, Brandt and the others go to Spelvia and meet with Rolan and Rekoteh. Rolan tells the party that he will deal with the monsters while Brandt's group go to the Star Chamber and defeat Chaos. At the end of the game, the party goes to Spelvia and returns the Sword of Light to him.

AbilitiesEdit

Equipment and StatsEdit

Rolan is equipped with a Light Blade, a Wooden Shield, and as with all Guest Party members, a unique armor called Rolan's Clothes. During battle he uses a unique form of the Hero crown and has access to the Reckless ability. Rolan also carries the spells Thundara and Cure in his inventory.

BossEdit

Rolan is fought twice in the game. The first time is in Spelvia, after the darkness within him is released. Rolan and Rekoteh also appear as optional bosses in the Mysterious Tower.
