The Black Robe

Robes are a recurring type of Body Armor on the series. They are often used exclusively by magic jobs, like the White Mage, the Black Mage, and the Summoner. Examples of recurring Robes in the series are the White Robe, the Black Robe, the Luminous Robe, and the Robe of Lords.

Robes can be equipped by Terra, Celes, Mog Gogo, Strago, and Relm, although the best are exclusive to the latter three.

Robes can be equipped by mage characters like Dagger, Vivi, Eiko, and Quina. The name of the robe indicates who can equip it.

A subclass of the "Body" category of equipment, they usually include mage-oriented armor for all Mages, Puppetmasters, and Scholars. Jobs like Dark Knight and Monk can equip some robes, but there isn't much reason to.

Robes appear as Body Mystic Armor in this game, and can be equipped by any character as long as he/she has purchased the necessary Licenses. This is the weakest type of armor, defense-wise, but is good for mage characters, since it provides the greatest magick defense and magick power boosts.

Kytes and Ashe B'nargin Dalmasca can equip Robes. They have high Magick Defense and low Defense.
