- "Ah, forgive me sir. I meant to say 'pardon me', but it came out in Al Bhed."
- —Rin upon stumbling into Tidus
Rin (リン, Rin?) is an Al Bhed merchant and entrepreneur who runs the various Rin's Travel Agency chapters across Spira in Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. He also persuades Tidus to learn the Al Bhed language. During Final Fantasy X Rin reveals he discovered Auron ten years earlier when he had been injured by Yunalesca, and offered him a place to stay for the night. After Home's destruction, Rin begins to use the money from his business to fund its rebuilding.
Rin takes an interest in Tidus's study of the Al Bhed language, at one point offering him an Al Bhed Primer if Tidus tells him his studies are going well. Once Tidus has found all 26 primers and mastered Al Bhed, Rin will be so pleased he can finally hold a conversation with Tidus in Al Bhed that he will reward him with 99 Underdog's Secrets.
By the Eternal Calm, Rin redirects his funding to build "his own home". Taking advantage of the entertainment field, Rin creates Sphere Break, as a source of entertainment in Spira during the blitzball off-season.
Rin appears to have a much darker side to him in terms of machina being the future and the Farplane energy, as he reveals if Yuna points him as the one behind the Mi'ihen Highroad machina attack. In the aftermath of Final Fantasy X-2, Rin gets Shinra to be part of his big project.
Rin's best attributes are his PA, EN, and, after gaining sufficient experience, BL. His ideal position would be a midfielder.
- In the English language version of Final Fantasy X, Rin is voiced by Tom Kenny, whose best-known role is that of Spongebob SquarePants.
