Restaurant is a recurring gameplay element in the series. The main purpose of the restaurant is to eat there to restore the party's HP. In games that feature day-night cycles, restaurants offer similar healing benefits to inns without advancing time to the next morning.

Restaurants appear as regular locations throughout the series, but are not listed on this article.

Final Fantasy XVEdit

Inside Hammerhead

Takka's Pit Stop is a restaurant.

The party can eat various meals at restaurants around the world for buffs in exchange for gil. The person serving the party at a restaurant is also the local tipster who can unveil new locations on the map, and offer up Hunts. Crow's Nest is a fast food chain in Lucis that has various restaurants around the area. Buffs gained from eating restaurant meals initially last longer than buffs gained from camping, but the player can extend the latter buffs' duration via the Ascension Grid. Sometimes the player must do quests to unlock new meals at a restaurant, and Ignis Scientia can sometimes learn new recipes from eating certain restaurant meals. The seasonal events Moogle Chocobo Carnival and Final Fantasy XV: Assassin's Festival had the Square Enix Cafe as a restaurant.
