FFX Reflex

Reflex in Final Fantasy X.

Improve your evasion by remaining calm and exercising sound judgement.
—Description, Final Fantasy Explorers.

Reflex (見切る or 見切り, Mikiri?, lit. All-Seeing), also known as Abandon, Evade+, and Reflexes, is a recurring ability in Final Fantasy games. It usually increases the chances of a character evading physical attacks.

AppearancesEdit

Final Fantasy XEdit

X Reflex is a special ability that raises the party's Evasion by 10% each cast. This can be stacked up to five times.

It is situated in Lulu's section of the Sphere Grid. It can also be taught to an aeon with 10 Speed Spheres. The same effect can also be acquired via Rikku's mix Ultra NulAll.

Final Fantasy XIIEdit

XII Evade+ is an enemy-only Augment, which can be used by (Mimeo), (Skull Defender), (Dead Bones), (Alraune), (White Chocobo), Lv.99 Red Chocobo, (Viper), (Panther), Etém, (Nightwalker), (Wyrdhare), Iguion, Piranha, (Coeurl), (Abysteel), (Wendigo), (Gorgimera), (Focalor), (Cerberus), Mu, (Basilisk), (Alraune King), (Tartarus), (Ose), Giruveganus, (Gargoyle Baron), (Deathclaw), (Chimera Brain), Magick Pot, Crusader, Speartongue, (Shambling Corpse), (Buer), (Bandercoeurl), Elvoret, Thextera, (Flowering Cactoid), (Wraith), (Ring Wyrm), (Marilith), (Deathscythe), Deathgaze, (Croakadile), (Diabolos), (Ixtab), (Feral Retriever), Vorpal Bunny, Catoblepas, (Fafnir), Pylraster, (Chickatrice), Orthros, Gil Snapper, Trickster, (Enkidu), (Slyt [a]), Fenrir, Zeromus, Mateus, (Zodiark), (Ba'Gamnan (1)), Rinok, Ba'Gamnan (2), Fury, Ahriman, Omega Mark XII, Kaiser Wolf, (Spee), (Rain Dancer), (Razorfin), (Minibug), Rageclaw, Ithuno, Wood Toad, Vorres, Larva Eater, (Arioch), (Midgardsormr), Crystal Knight, Grave Lord, (Luxollid), (Vagrant Soul), (Imdugud), Bull Chocobo, Seeq Thief, Garif Adventurer, Baknamy (Unarmed), Baknamy (Sword), Baknamy (Gun), Bangaa Thief, Bangaa Pugilist, (Mastiff), Judge [b], (Judge [d]), c [b], (Vayne), (Vayne Novus), and Sephira. It increases the user's Evade by 25 if their Evade is not 0.

Playable characters can not parry attacks by default. The only way for them to be able to parry is by equipping the Jade Collar accessory, which provides 30% parry to physical attack. To counter the enemy parries, the player may opt to equip the Cameo Belt accessory. The accessory completely ignores the enemy's chance to block and parry attacks, making it especially useful against Judges. Enemies can not parry attacks from Guns, Measures, and Crossbows although the attacks from the latter two can still miss under certain conditions.

Final Fantasy TacticsEdit

FFT Reflexes, also known as Abandon, is a reaction ability learned by the Ninja class for 400 JP. One of only two reaction abilities not affected by Brave, Reflexes doubles the character's physical and magical Evade rates.

Final Fantasy Tactics AdvanceEdit

TA Reflex is a reaction ability that works by completely avoiding a standard attack (not special abilities or magic). Reflex does not activate against any special skill (such as Doubleshot or Take Aim).

Paladins may learn it from the Genji Armor for 300 AP, while the Fencer, Sage, and White Monk can learn it from the Mirage Vest for 300 AP.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the RiftEdit

TA2 Reflex returns as a reaction ability and functions similarly to how it did in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Paladins and Raptors can learn the ability from Genji Armor for 350 AP, and Sages, Fencers, and White Monks can learn it for 350 AP from the Ever Robe.
