Red Giant is a boss in Final Fantasy VIII. It is summoned when the player enters the Prison Cell in the Armory and retrieves the Prison Key. In the Japanese version, it is known as Wolfram Eater.
In the English-language versions of the game, Pandemona can be drawn from Red Giant if the player did not draw the GF from Fujin.

Red Giant has huge amounts of Vit and Spr, which is easily reduced using Meltdown. One of the more amusing traits of this Boss is that it gives a verbal response to attacks done on him. For example, when making a physical attack, the Red Giant will say:
"GWahaHA! PHysical attacKS? USeleSS!"
Inflicted with magic, the Red Giant will say: "THat magic is useleSS!"
Attacked by a GF, the Red Giant will say: "THat GF is a waste of tiME!"
However, when inflicted with Demi, the Red Giant will say: "Urgh! N-NO more DEMI, pleaSE...!!!"
So, use Demi if you don't have Meltdowns ready. Additionally, you might also summon Diablos, which prompts a similar response from the Red Giant.
Also, if you have the GF Cactuar, you can use this as this GF ignores stats and will do normal damage as high as 10,000 per turn.
Red Giant attacks with his Gigantic Sword, but once its HP is reduced to around 9,000 HP or below, Red Giant abandons this Sword to fight with its bare hands, using the Punch attack.
Because of heavily relying on physical attacks, Red Giant will be handicapped if inflicted with Darkness.
