The Red Chocobo is an enemy from Final Fantasy XIII-2.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Red Chocobo begins combat by using its Inspire ability, which grants it Bravery, Faith, and Vigilance, after which it will begin its attack. Its attacks are powerful, and it has a lot of HP, but it does not have much in the way of defenses. It can be a difficult foe to defeat. If the battle takes too long, it will flee by using Choco Dash.
Strategy[]
A good tip is to pay attention to the chocobo's movements in battle, as right before they flee they will turn around and shake their rear. As soon as the player spots this they can press and redo the battle, as it is often faster than waiting for another one to spawn.
Paradigm Pack[]
The Red Chocobo is a Commando. It gains balanced stats and learns many passive abilities, such as Fire Resistance and Critical: Bravery. The latter may be a good addition, since the party is unable to manually bestow Bravery (unless cast through a monster like a Gigantuar). It also learns Stagger Maintenance II, extending the duration of Stagger. As with all chocobos, the player with one Red Chocobo and its crystal may obtain another Red Chocobo crystal due to the chocobo racing minigame. All other tameable monsters are limited to one each. The Red Chocobo can have the highest Attack value of any Paradigm Pack monster, including DLC, if he is raised with Power Materials only. With the +35% Strength Passive, he will surpass 1600 Strength, making him and Twilight Odin the only two Commandos who can exceed 1600 Strength.

Etymology[]
(チョコボール, Chokobōru?). The mascot for this product is Kyoro-chan (キョロちゃん?), a bird who says "kweh".
The name "chocobo" derives from a Japanese brand of chocolate malt ball by Morinaga, ChocoBall食う / くう / kuu is a rough way to say "eat", whose volitional casual form is 食え / くえ / kue ("let's scoff 'em down!"), leading to Kweh!
