The Red Cap (レッドキャップ, Reddo Kyappu?), also known as Red Hat or Red Hood, is a recurring hat in the Final Fantasy series. The cap is a light helmet and often gives a variety of stat boosts, often related to Vitality and Stamina.

The Red Cap is a powerful light helmet exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary versions. It gives +8 Defense, +1 Weight, +10 Evasion, +4 Strength, +3 Agility, +2 Stamina, and increases max HP by 25%. It is found in the Lifespring Grotto and Whisperwind Cove, and only the Red Mage and its upgrade, the Red Wizard may equip it.

The Red Cap is a piece of equipment found in the Depths of the True Moon. It can be worn by various members of the party. It provides 10 Defense, 12 Magic Defense, 2% Evasion, 12% Magic Evasion, resistance to Fire damage, and boosts user's Stamina by 5.

The Red Hat can be equipped by everyone but Steiner and Freya. It increases Fire damage while giving a +1 to Defense and +26 Magic Defense. The player can find a Red Hat in Mount Gulug and purchase them in Ipsen's Castle for 3,000 gil.

Red Cap is a low-level hat that requires the Light Armor 5 license to be equipped. It provides +150 HP, +18 Magick Resist, and +3 Vitality and can be purchased from Rabanastre, Jahara, and Mt. Bur-Omisace.

The Red Hood gives +24 HP and +8 MP. It is sold in many shops for 1,000 gil following the battle at Sand Rat Sietch. It can also be found as rare treasure at Lenalian Plateau with the Treasure Hunter ability.

It provides 13 defense, 5 magic, and 9 magic defense at level 1, while at level 30 it provides 53 defense, 20 magic, and 36 magic defense. It also provides +10 Fire resistance, has one empty slot, and can be bought for 690 gil. It may also be created for 180 gil by using up one Silk, three Red Fay Dusts, and one Elemental Gem. When turned into a jewel, a level 3-9 Red Hat makes an Anti-Burn Stone 1, level 10-19 makes an Anti-Burn Stone 3, and level 20-30 makes an Anti-Burn Stone 6.
