Rapiers (レイピア, Reipia?) are recurring weapons in the Final Fantasy series. They are a specific type of narrow sword used for fencing and magic users.

Rapiers are a type of sword, primarily used by Red Mages. They are distinct in that they inflict piercing damage, rather than slashing damage.

Rapiers are a type of weapon available to Lightning. They come in two types: feminine-named rapiers that boost ailment magic, and bird-named rapiers meant for swift attacks from behind. While equipped, Lightning's attack animation changes to graceful dancing moves.

XV Stella Nox Fleuret wielded a rapier while battling Noctis Lucis Caelum. Her rapier may have had some magical properties, as a winged crest formed behind her when she brandished it. However, it was possible the magic was simply a spell cast by Stella herself.

Viera Fencers, Elementalists, and Red Mages all employ rapiers as their weapon of choice, and so does Ritz Malheur, although her job can be changed after she joins the player's clan. Rapiers are less expensive to buy at the viera town of Muscadet.
