A raid event (レイドイベント, Reido Ibento?), or simply a raid, is a type of event in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Raids are collaborative challenges that pit players against a single boss enemy across different difficulty levels in order to obtain event points and rewards. Collaborations usually take the form of raids, the boss being an iconic monster from the game in question.

Gameplay[]

Differently from most other events, raids do not use energy to play. Instead players are given five raid orbs Raid orb, which are similar to Arena orbs. The player consumes one orb per run, and they regenerate at a rate of one per hour. Orbs can also be fully replenished through use of Lapis or after increasing one's rank. Provided a player sleeps around eight hours per day, this gives them roughly 20 orbs per day (five when waking up, and 15-16 during the day), ignoring the aforementioned methods to instantly restore the orbs.

Boss[]

The event's main menu displays a banner featuring the boss' global HP bar, which has a staggeringly high HP value (usually in the billions of HP). This serves as the boss' "true" HP value, and the goal is to decrease this bar. In order to join the efforts, a player must enter a stage and damage the boss. While defeating the stage boss is not mandatory, it ensures maximum benefits. In any case, the boss' global HP will decrease in equal proportion to the HP of the stage boss defeated. Overkill damage does not factor into this, so while messages showcase players inflicting a certain amount of damage that exceeds the stage boss' HP, none of this additional damage helps decrease the boss' global HP.

In addition to the global HP meter, the boss has a Level. Once the boss' HP meter is fully depleted by the cummulative efforts of all players, the boss will increase its Level by 1 and will fully restore the HP bar with an even greater HP value than before. The player community is given 24 hours between each Level in order to deplete the bar; failing to do so in the allotted time will cause the Boss' Level to return to its previous level. The higher the Level, the better the boss' Level Bonus +% (also seen in the main raid screen), which dictates the bonus rewards after completing a stage.

Rewards[]

Clearing the stages give out a unique type of currency called raid coins. They are given at the end of every battle against the boss regardless of victory or defeat, whereas event points are given based on the player's performance. The player receives a total of raid coins equal to 10% of the event point value, with an additional 8% per every additional Boss Level, which is why reducing the boss' global HP is important. The coins are used in specific Raid Summon banners that appear during the raid's claim period; a single Raid Summon costs 100 coins to perform. Raid Summon pools typically consist of limited-time units, Trust Moogles, pots, Metal Cactuars, Gil Snappers and materials (most commonly to craft items from recipes earned in the raid).

The amount of event points earned can be seen by clicking on the "Rewards" button (formerly "Achievement Status") in the raid screen, which shows the completion rewards and ranking rewards. Individual rewards are given to the player as soon as they meet the required total of points and these rewards are automatically sent to the player's mailbox. Rewards given here are very similar to those from Raid Summons (cactuars, pots, materials, Trust moogles) with the addition of event-exclusive recipes and summon tickets.

Ranking rewards, for their part, shows the player's position in the global ranking that will determine an additional reward that players will receive after the raid ends. The higher the rank, the better the reward, which is classified by range. For example, those who rank between 70,001 - 100,000 place, they are given 1 Rare Summon Ticket, while those between 50,001 - 70,000 receive 1 Trust Moogle and 1 ticket.

Trivia[]

  • Most of the raid events have all the features listed in this page, except one: A Frosty Offensive. This event was battle dungeon-type event, but the player doesn't fight a 'super' boss nor collaborates with other players to decrease its health. There weren't raid coins either, as this aspect was implemented in Vision of Bahamut in the global version.
