—In-Game Description

Quetzalcoatl is the Rank I Thunder Ranged Esper in Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. Its attack, Thunder, deals damage to a single enemy. The yellow Quetzalcoatl are ally Yarhi, while the blue ones are enemy Yarhi.

Attributes Edit

Quetzalcoatl is one of the few Rank I Ranged Esper to have an astounding growth in Attack Speed. Making its time between attacks to be 2.9 seconds till 1.8 seconds! Although that the fact about it is that its final Attack Speed is 50, lesser by 2 than Sylph, making Sylph to have a slightly shorter time between attacks in the terms of milliseconds. Its total latency was 14, second to Cactoid (16) exceeds Sylph (12) and Shivan (11).

Quetzalcoatl basic attack, Thunder attribute is magickal, so it uses Magick stat instead. If it is Silenced, it will not be able to attack at all. Its hit style is direct shot, which means that it hit and stop at any target that within the attack's range.

Quetzalcoatl, although demeaning and barely notable for its actual talents, has its advantage. It's notable for it's faster and quicker attack than Sagittarius's and especially Tiamat's. Quetzalcoatl has the highest Speed and Magick amongst Rank I Ranged Espers, including Magick Attack (note that Quetzalcoatl's Magick pars with Sylph's). It's probably the best earliest choice to decimate Water Flying foes like Aquarius and Siren.

Etymology Edit

Quetzalcoatl is one of the major deities in ancient Mesoamerican mythology. Quetzalcōhuātl means in the Nahuatl language "feathered serpent". Due to the many civilizations worshiping the same deity using different names for it in the span of almost 2,000 years, the exact attributes and significance of this god varies.

Most stories, though, agree upon Quetzalcoatl being the god of the morning star and being known as the inventor of books, the calendar and the giver of maize to mankind. The worship of Quetzalcoatl was, in some religions, connected with human sacrifices, while in others, opposed to human sacrifices.
