XIII

Pulsework Gladiator is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII fought in Taejin's Tower.

Battle Edit

Pulsework Gladiators appear in groups. They can take a moment to kill because of their high defense, but they are not difficult enemies. The Gladiator is resistant to all forms of attack apart from water based attacks.

Strategy Edit

A good team is two Ravagers and a Commando. Once the Gladiator is staggered, it is incapacitated and takes more damage. With a group of Gladiators, the player can stagger them one by one, thus leaving all of them incapacitated, before destroying them all with area of effect attacks.

Etymology Edit

A gladiator (Latin: gladiator, "swordsman", from gladius, "sword") was an armed combatant who entertained audiences in the Roman Republic and Roman Empire in violent confrontations with other gladiators, wild animals, and condemned criminals. Some gladiators were volunteers but most were slaves schooled under harsh conditions. Gladiators were celebrated in art, and it became a feature of politics and social life in the Roman world.
