The universe stretches into infinity! What life can survive its expanse? Dare you face the envoy of the stars?

Arbiter of Time introducing the PuPu.

The PuPu appear as part of Final Fantasy XIII-2's downloadable content in a challenge called "Take Me to Your Leader". They are tiny blue extraterrestrials based on the creature from Final Fantasy VIII. Its specific stats are unknown as it doesn't appear in official guides, being part of post-launch content.

Stats[]

Battle[]

While the UFO is active, it will heal active PuPus and deploy new ones to replace the fallen ones. PuPus have basic physical attacks and will bombard the party with elemental spells after being healed. When the party destroys the UFO, the PuPus will prepare to use Meteor, which can easily dispatch an unprepared party.

Strategy[]

Using the Cerberus paradigm can take out PuPus relatively quickly while also damaging the UFO. When PuPus gain the ability to cast Meteor, Protection (SEN/MED/SYN) and Combat Clinic (SEN/MED/MED) can help mitigate damage. With an array of status enhancements and exceptionally high HP, the player should go with Aggression (COM/COM/RAV) as Cerberus (COM/COM/COM). It might not be able to cut down the initial number of PuPus, but slightly charged chain gauge can help in quicker dispatch. Later, Cerberus can be used to deal with a smaller group.

Paradigm Pack[]

PuPu is a reasonably good Medic. By making a Paradigm Pack consisting of Fantasy or Champion monsters, PuPu can use its Pack Mentality and gain an additional 30% boost to its Magic. While it learns all of the major Medic spells, its true strength lies as a monster recruiter. With a good timing on the player's part, the Synchronization gauge can easily reach close to 999%; PuPu's Feral Link is Items Please!, which inflicts Magic damage and increases the odds of obtaining items after battle. The player should get the opponent's health low enough, switch to the Salvation paradigm, and use Items Please! for maximum effectiveness. If the player fails to defeat the target, they can wait while PuPu uses Cheer to fill its Feral Link gauge.
