Provoke

Provoke, also known as Taunt, Lure, and Decoy, is an ability that entices enemies to attack. This is often used to protect weaker party members or to keep monsters from using special attacks/magic. It works similar to Cover.

In the Nintendo DS version, Vikings can Provoke enemies. Provoking enemies also lowers their defense.

Draw Attacks is an augment in the Nintendo DS version that makes all attacks target the user.

Golbez has the Taunt ability, which makes all enemies attacks target him.

Lure is the first ability learned from the Gladiator job class.

Provoke is found in Tidus's section of the Sphere Grid. When cast, it entices the enemy to attack only the character who used it. Successfully Provoking an enemy will also counteract the Berserk status.

Provoke is available to Warriors. The ability can be used once every 30 seconds starting at level 5. When used, it will create an instant high amount of enmity towards the Warrior. It is viewed as an almost essential ability to have in order to serve as a tank. It is also a vital part of the strategy commonly referred to as first provoke.

Provoke is an enemy ability that inflicts Berserk on the target.

Soldiers can use Provoke to inflict Berserk. It is taught by the Blood Sword.
