Pray (いのる, Inoru?), also known as Health and Prayer, is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series that heals the whole party.

Appearances
Edit
Final Fantasy IV
Edit
In all versions of the game except the SNES one in which many character abilities were removed, Rosa can use Pray (Prayer in the J2e translation). Pray has a 50% chance of using Cure at no MP cost on the party and 50% chance of failing. In the Advance version it is upgradeable to Miracle with the White Ring. Miracle has a 50% chance of casting both Curaga and Esuna on the party, though its failure is just a Cura spell on the party.
In the Nintendo DS version, Pray restores both HP and MP, the amount of which is dependent on the party member's max HP and MP, and has a higher rate of success. Both abilities can be reflected, and will automatically fail if Rosa is under Silence.
Final Fantasy IV -Interlude-
Edit
Pray returns in the sequel of Final Fantasy IV, and it is Rosa exclusive ability. It functions the same way as it did in the prequel.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years
Edit
Porom has the Pray ability which restores a minor amount of HP to the party. Rosa's Blessing ability functions similar to Pray in the DS release of Final Fantasy IV, restoring HP and MP to the party.
Final Fantasy VI
Edit
Banon has the Pray command, which was called Health in the SNES and PS versions. It effectively casts Cura on the party for no MP cost. Pray is vulnerable to Runic, and can be reflected, though it is unlikely for the player to ever see this done.
Final Fantasy X
Edit
Pray is found in Yuna's section of the Sphere Grid. It restores a small amount of HP to the party.
Final Fantasy X-2
Edit
Pray is found in the White Mage dressphere and works the same as it did in Final Fantasy X. Vigor is a stronger single-target version of Pray. As opposed to its Final Fantasy X appearance, Pray is its own command in White Mage's command menu.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Edit
Prayer is the command of the Bishop class.
Bishop command. Sway the battle with prayers.

There's a spellbooks called Prayer and it has a book icon before its name. It can be bought in numerous towns across the various worlds for 6800 GP. It only has 30 uses, and also increases a Robot's HP by 45 when equipped on them. The damage formula for Prayer is the user's Mana x13, only effective on the undead such as Skelton, Zombie, O-Bake.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
Edit
Pray comes in three levels of power. Pray activates automatically at the halfway point of a stage and has a chance to restore a set percentage of HP, based on its level of power. Pray Lv 1 has a 50% chance to heal 30% HP, Lv 2 has a 60% chance of healing 50%, and Lv 3 has a 70% chance of healing 70% HP. Princess Sarah, Terra, Aerith, Yuna and Cosmos learn all three levels of Pray, while Cid learns Lv 1 and Lv 2. All three levels of Pray can be taught to any party member using a Pray Tome of the corresponding level.
