Battle Edit

When alone, they have a 33% chance each turn to use Cyclonic and reduce the party to critical health. However, when with other enemies, they only use normal attacks and a stronger Wing attack.

An easy way to defeat them is to Confuse them, causing them to cast Cyclonic on themselves and any other enemies present, making them very easy to defeat afterward.

Etymology Edit

Platinum is a chemical element with the chemical symbol Pt and an atomic number of 78. Its name is derived from the Spanish term platina, which is literally translated into "little silver".

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures.

The term "Platinum Dragon" originates in the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons to describe and title the King of Metallic Dragons (the others being Brass, Copper, Bronze, Silver, and Gold Dragons) due to the belief that Platinum was the most precious metal (in reality, it is at best in second place, as gold is valued at more). The name of the Platinum Dragon in D&D was actually Bahamut (hence his being surrounded by a court of dragons in the original Final Fantasy).
