Piano Collections: Final Fantasy VIII is a piano arranged album of tracks from Final Fantasy VIII. The first print contains a poster of the watercolor cover art of Squall and Rinoa. Some of those who preordered the CD also received a six-month year 2000 calendar with an enlarged version of the Final Fantasy VIII PC cover art as illustration.

The liner notes contain the piano score to "Eyes On Me", a profile of performer Shinko Ogata, picture of Ogata, Nobuo Uematsu, and Shirō Hamaguchi, and messages from Uematsu and Hamaguchi.

"Eyes on Me" and "The Successor" of this album are found on the Potion: Relaxin' with Final Fantasy album. "Fisherman's Horizon" is included on the Final Fantasy S Generation: Official Best Collection and Potion 2: Relaxin' with Final Fantasy albums.
