Template:Sideicon Template:Location The Phoenix Tower is a thirty floor tower in Final Fantasy V found in the merged world, southwest of the North Mountain. It also exists in the second world, southwest of the Underground Waterway, although it is inaccessible.

There are two doors in every floor: one will instantly unfold the stairwell to the next floor, while the other is guarded by a random monster. Every five floors there will be pots on the right and left sides of the screen. One of the pots will contain an amount of Gil equal to the floor number multiplied by 1000, and the other is revealed to be a Magic Pot.

Besides the Magic Pots, the random encounters in the Phoenix Tower are inescapable and the enemies have a tendency to hit the party with strong status ailments.

Once the player party has reached the top floor, Lenna will have a flashback to when her mother became gravely ill, and the only cure for her disease was the tongue of a wind drake. The player can decide if the young Lenna will attempt to cut the Tycoon wind drake's tongue off. Saying yes will cause King Tycoon to hit Lenna. Scolding her, he will further explain to her about her mother's death and learning about self-sacrifice.

The wind drake, already very old, jumps from the tower and is reborn as the Level 5 Phoenix summon.
