Palumpolum is a port city within Cocoon in Final Fantasy XIII. It is called "the Capital of Commerce", and PSICOM soldiers hold a firm grip over it.
As shown in the playable demo in TGS 2009, Lightning and Hope Estheim have to sneak through the harbor of Palumpolum while avoiding the soldiers patrolling the area.
According to the web novelization Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero: Promise, Hope and his family live in Palumpolum.
[edit] Etymology
The name Palumpolum is similar to the twins from Final Fantasy IV, Palom and Porom.
