Stats

Battle

Pacos Amethyst is a fairly weak enemy. It uses the element of ice, is weak to fire, and absorbs ice. It attempts to revive Pacos Luvulite after it is defeated via the Split technique.

Strategy

The key to defeating Pacos Amethyst is to exploit its weakness to fire and avoid its ice-based attacks. It is recommended to use a Librascope at the beginning of the battle to ensure allies use the correct combinations of attacks.

Pacos Amethyst is quick to stagger, and the party can whittle down its HP with ease. Relentless Assault (COM/RAV/RAV) is an excellent paradigm to use; the ATB refreshing technique allows a decently-leveled party to get through this battle without the need to heal. Pacos Amethyst is not strong enough to endanger the party's health to the point where Medics are necessary.

It is recommended to destroy Pacos Amethyst and Pacos Luvulite quickly before the Split technique is used. It is unlikely that Pacos Amethyst or Pacos Luvulite will have a chance to use Split more than once when faced with a strong party.

Etymology

Pacos is the plural form of paco, paco is an earthy-looking ore, consisting of brown oxide of iron with minute particles of native silver.

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz often used in jewelry. It is the birthstone for February.
