The Ouya is a video game console to be released March 2013 by developer Boxer8. Founded by game industry veteran Julie Uhrman, the project was originally supported by an online Kickstarter campaign. It runs on open-source software based on the Android mobile operating system, which in turn is based on Linux. Square Enix has given the console their official support, with Final Fantasy III becoming a launch title.
