The Ouroboros is an enemy from Final Fantasy III. It can be found in Lake Dohr, and as a monster-in-a-box in the Saronia Catacombs. It is of little threat to the party and can be defeated easily, but can petrify occasionally. As it can only be encountered in Lake Dohr or in the Saronia Catacombs chest, it is a missable enemy.

Etymology Edit

The Ouroboros is Greek for "tail-devourer". It is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle. It most commonly symbolizes cyclicality, unity, or infinity.
