Ornitholestes is a special enemy in Final Fantasy X, created in the Monster Arena when five of each Reptile species fiends have been captured, with the exception of the Cave Iguion which is only encountered when capturing fiends is not possible.
With high Agility and Evasion stats, this monster can be difficult to hit. Stacking the special abilities Aim and Luck, as well as using Jinx on Ornitholestes, will lower his chances to avoid physical attacks.
Its Poison Touch attack will inflict the Poison status and also halve the HP of the victim. When its HP gets low, Ornitholestes will use Drain Touch, which can siphon a large amount of HP from a character.
Ornitholestes will drop weapons with Double Overdrive and armor with some combination of Defense +5%, +10%, or +20%.

Ornitholestes was a small dinosaur that lived during the late Jurassic period in what would become North America. It typically fed on small lizards and mammals.
