Preparations
Edit
Mushroom Rock was made the base of operation for the upcoming battle. The Crusaders gathered together Sinspawn to lure in Sin, and despite the teachings precluding their use, Al Bhed machina weapons were set up. Once Yuna and her guardians arrive at the command post, they are recruited in the battle, and end up fighting Sinspawn Gui, a reanimated conglomeration of the many Sinspawn the Crusaders had concentrated together.
Battle
Edit
As Sin speeds toward the shores of Mushroom Rock, the Crusaders bombard it with cannon fire while Al Bhed specialists ready their machina. These attacks only succeed in shedding Sin's outer layer into individual Sinspawn, all of which would detach from the main body to engage the Crusaders and Chocobo Knights in combat. In a massive blast of energy. Sin manages to destroy all of the Crusader infantry, and although this gargantuan field of energy is held back by the Al Bhed machina, Sin manages to overcome the machina and destroys them as well. At this point, with most of the ground troops dead, Yuna and her party focus on defeating the Sinspawn Gui.
Aftermath
Edit
All of the Crusaders were excommunicated from Yevon, who had condemned their actions even prior to the failed attempt. Many of the Crusaders retired, while others went to work for temples of Yevon, including the nearby Djose Temple, to seek forgiveness. Many of its other survivors, believed to be dead, were found by LeBlanc and became members of her syndicate.

Trivia
Edit
- It is possible for the player to cause the death of either Gatta or Luzzu during the battle. If the player encourages Gatta to go to the front lines, he will be killed by Sin, but if told to stay behind, Luzzu will be dead in his place.
