The "Opening Theme" is a recurring piece of music by Nobuo Uematsu in the Final Fantasy series. It has also been called "Prologue" and "Final Fantasy". Because of this, along with its recurrence, it is considered to be the main theme of the series.
It was first played during the opening of the original Final Fantasy and has ever since been played in every game in the series, except Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy X, during the opening or ending sequences.
