Freelancer

From Final Fantasy Wiki

(Redirected from Normal)
Jump to: navigation, search

Freelancer (すっぴん Suppin lit. Au Naturale), also known as Bare, Natural or Normal, is the generic job class in the Final Fantasy series. Having no specialty, the normal job technically isn't a job, but it does sometimes have hidden potential. One advantage a normal has is their ability to equip a variety of equipment from many other jobs, as well as balanced stats. Notable Freelancers in the series are the playable characters of Final Fantasy II because they can equip every piece of equipment and they can use every type of weapon, and the playable characters of Final Fantasy XII, but in that game every character has different pre-equiped weapons and different stats(e.g. Penelo makes a much better Mage than Basch, but Basch has better physical stats).

[edit] Final Fantasy III

Main article: Freelancer (Final Fantasy III)

This class is only available in the DS version of Final Fantasy III. It replaces the Onion Kid class, which appeared in the original NES version and functioned similarly.

[edit] Final Fantasy V

Main article: Freelancer (Final Fantasy V)

The Freelancer job is the default Job class in Final Fantasy V. He has two Ability Slots(all other classes except Mime has one), can equip almost every piece of equipment in the game, and has every Innate Ability of every Job Class the character has Mastered, except the Berserkers BERSERK ability and (GBA only) the Necromancer's UNDEAD ability. The Freelancer Job is the only available Job until the player visits the Wind Shrine, and watches the Crystal of Wind shatter

[edit] Final Fantasy X-2

Only appearing in International + Last Mission, the normal job class has no advantage in X-2.

When playing the Last Mission, if a girl loses all her dresspheres, she'll revert to her bare job, which makes her very weak defensively and offers very little offense. When bare, the girl will be wearing her underwear from the hot-springs sequence, though it does increase the girl's level.

[edit] Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon

Natural is the starting class for Chocobo in the game, and is not suitable for use in the dungeons it is exploring.
