Heir apparent to the Lucian throne, known to those close to him as Noct. His tale begins as he sets out from the crown city in order to wed Lunafreya of House Fleuret. He fights alongside his allies wielding spectral weapons that only those of his royal lineage can conjure.
Noctis is a Lucian Prince, whose combat role is Physical Attack.
Noctis has traits of a Physical Speed unit: very high Speed and Attack, good HP growth, and access to a selection of edged weapons. He ranks poorly in both magical stats and Defense, the latter compounded by a limited armor draw. He also starts with high Evasion. The only other serious flaw is that his native Record Materia involve questionable trade-offs, such as starting in Sleep or losing the capacity to fill the Soul Gauge when attacking. Nevertheless, he holds the rare distinction of being one of the quickest units to acquire and fully raise; all materials needed were accessible within just two battles.

Noctis appears as a vision obtainable through summoning. A 5-6★ Rare Summon, his job is listed as Prince, and his roles are Physical Damage and Support. Noctis will appear as a playable character. He was announced as the third DLC guest character, after SNK fighting game series character Geese Howard , Street Fighter character Akuma, and female vampire Eliza, and will be added in the spring of 2018.
Modeled after Yoshimitsu, Noctis fights using his Engine Blade sword as well as other weapons. His Rage Art is based on Armiger, which has him summon the various weapons to bombard his opponent with a flurry of slashes, then impale his opponent with an axe to deal heavy damage.
His DLC trailer reveals that Noctis has been acquainted by Tekken character Lars Alexandersson who calls him at his mobile phone and convinces Noctis to take down his opponents. In the end of his reveal trailer Noctis and Lars fish at the Jungle Outpost after the latter defeats Kuma in a fight. Most of his voice clips are reused from his appearance on Team Ninja/Tecmo Koei's Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
