Noah (Final Fantasy III)
From Final Fantasy Wiki
Noah was a famous Great Magus from Final Fantasy III, who trained Xande, Doga and Unei. In the game, he was also the one to seal Leviathan and Bahamut on the Floating Continent. Noah's Lute is an item used in the game to awaken Unei from her sleep. The song used by bards in the game is officially called, Lute of Noah.
[edit] Etymology
Noah is most likely a reference to the biblical Noah, who built the arc and rebuilt the world after the flood. This would certainly make sense, given that much of the game is centered around floods of some variety. i.e Flood of Light, Flood of Darkness, or the flood that resulted from the lack of functionality of the water crystal.
[edit] Trivia
- In the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary remakes of the original Final Fantasy, Noah is one of the automatic names the player can choose for the White Mage job.
